SHIELD Scientific

Selecting the right gloves for your safety.

Finding the right glove in just four steps.
“I am looking for a glove with the highest comfort, protective against all types of hazards and economical at the same time”.
Have you ever heard from the jack-of-all trade device (German saying: Egg-laying-wool-milk-pig)? Well up to date, this is simply technically impossible. Remember that no single glove will provide protection in all applications.
Very often Comfort is at the top of the user’s criteria for selection a glove. At SHIELD Scientific we constantly aim to improve users’ well-being without compromising protection. Often when selecting a glove, its protective properties are lost in the jungle of features offered to users by the manufacturers. But it is quite simple: THE THICKER AND LONGER THE GLOVE, THE BETTER YOU WILL BE PROTECTED!
This webinar intends to give you a first guidance of how to find the right gloves for your application. With our colour coding system, selecting the right SHIELD Scientific laboratory glove, nitrile or latex, becomes now an easy exercise.

Plant Imaging on the Azure Sapphire Biomolecular Imager

Presented by Dr. Andreas Schrötter, Scientific Sales Manager
Think about it—one instrument, one easy and flexible data acquisition for plant samples. If you’re one of the many scientists that combines biochemical techniques such as gels and Western blots with the visualization of plant samples, it’s time to think about a large field of view scanner. With resolution down to 10μm, The Sapphire™ Biomolecular Imager enables imaging above the subcellular level and the large scanning bed translates into a ultra-wide field of view to allow you to see your plant specimen in full size. In this webinar we present the next generation of laser-based imaging with plant samples like Arabidopsis thaliana roots and seedlings, plant stem cuts, various full size pant leafs and so much more!

Tissue Imaging on the Azure Sapphire Biomolecular Imager

Sapphire Biomolecular Imager - The next generation lab imaging platform

Multiple imaging modalities give you the freedom to do more. If you’re one of the many scientists that combines biochemical techniques such as gels and Western blots with the visualization of tissue morphology, it’s time to rethink how much you really need to use a microscope. With resolution down to 10μm, The Sapphire™ Biomolecular Imager enables imaging above the subcellular level and the large scanning bed translates into a ultra-wide field of view compared to a microscope. In this webinar we present the next generation of laser-based imaging with samples like brain, lung, liver and so much more!

Rapid Translation System (RTS): Advances in swift cell-free protein expression

Rapid Translation System (RTS) is a fast cell-free in vitro translation tool that can be conducted in every laboratory. RTS does not require time-consuming steps of transformation and fermentation, and attention of laboratory biosafety. The user needs only a temperature control device (e.g. thermomixer) and pipettes. These advantages enable the swift synthesis of functionally active proteins of interest within 2-4 hours from circular or linear DNA templates.

Another great advantage of the in vitro system over in vivo system is to be able to express cytotoxic proteins that put a burden on the living cells. biotechrabbit offers RTS kits that contain all the required components for in vitro transcription and translation. Furthermore, our optimized cloning vectors and linear template kits simplify the template preparation. The user can therefore start the reactions simply and quickly using own DNA templates. Our RTS series covers both prokaryotic (E.coli) and eukaryotic (wheat germ and insect) protein expression system. The expressed proteins can be used for a variety of applications from functional and structural studies to screening of protein interaction partners that can contribute to discover new molecular targets of diseases.

bio molecular systems: magnetic induction cycler

MIC - The world’s first Magnetic Induction Cycler.

Mic uses a patented magnetic induction technology to heat your samples and fan forced air for cooling. This means fast qPCR results through rapid heating and cooling with 35 cycles possible in under 25 minutes.

Mic delivers unrivaled reproducibility between samples, runs and instruments. Real-time PCR replicates have never looked so good and detection of two-fold differences in gene expression levels never easier.

Mic takes up less space on the bench than your lab book. And weighing in at just 2kg, this is the most portable and compact qPCR machine on the market. Even four Mic’s stacked together take up less bench space than your current cycler.

Multiple Mic instruments can be operated from one workstation so 48 becomes 96, and 96 becomes 192. As many as ten instruments can connect to one PC. Bluetooth technology means fewer cables too.

Biocision (by Brooks Life Sciences)

Standardized Sample Cooling and Freezing

The most precious asset researchers in Life Sciences work with are their samples.

Result quality and cell viability depend on standardized handling of these samples.

The Biocision CoolBox, CoolCell and Coolrack product lines provide an easy and convenient way to keep samples under stable temperature conditions throughout the day and freeze cells at controlled rate without the need of alcohol, ice or dry ice. Biocision reusable containers provide very cost-effective means of reproducibility conducting freezing or cooling procedures in combination with a minimum of delay until re-usage.
